The Differences, Uses, Types, And Characteristics Between Black Skinned Steel And Glossy Steel

Rolled steel can be divided into hot-rolled steel (black skin material) and cold-rolled steel (glossy material)
Black skin material and glossy material are terms used to indicate the type of rolled steel. Hot rolled steel is called black skinned steel, while cold-rolled steel is called glossy steel.

Total rolled steel is a material processed through rolling technology
Non alloy steel with a carbon content between 0.02% and 2.14% used in industry is called steel. Materials made of steel are collectively referred to as "steel", including SC and SS materials, which are very commonly used mechanical and structural materials. Please refer to here for the definition and types of steel. In steel, materials in the shape of plates, bars, etc. processed through rolling technology are called "rolled steel". In addition, rolling is divided into two types: hot rolling and cold rolling.

Characteristics of black skin material (hot-rolled steel)
Hot rolling is a method of processing materials at high temperatures ranging from approximately 900 ℃ to 1200 ℃. Due to the high temperature, the surface of the material will combine with oxygen in the air after processing, producing a black oxide film, which is the true essence of "black skin". The surface of hot-rolled steel is covered with a black oxide film, which has a rough texture, hence it is called "black skin material". Black skin materials also include SS and SC materials, especially when appearing in sheet form, they are called SPHC (hot-rolled steel plate). Black skin materials can be used directly, but in some cases, sandblasting or acid washing treatment is required before use to remove the surface black skin.

Characteristics of Total Bright Surface Material (Cold Rolled Steel)
Cold rolling refers to the processing technology of rolling metal at room temperature or ambient temperature. Due to the heat generated during the cold rolling process, the target temperature for its processing is approximately 600 ° C or below. Cold rolled steel is generally manufactured by cold rolling after removing the black skin of hot-rolled steel. Cold rolled steel is different from black skinned steel in that it has a smooth silver white surface, which is the color of the steel after grinding. Therefore, it is also known as "glossy material". Among the bright surface materials, especially when appearing in sheet form, it is called SPCC (cold-rolled steel plate).
